The Little Empress demands that something be in her mouth at all times. She has developed a habit of gnawing on the various carriers I have for her. No matter what carrier I use -- wrap, structured, meitai, sling -- she will gnaw on the fabric. To keep her from gnawing too much on the carriers, I'll try to drape a wash cloth over the part she's gnawing on to try to keep it clean.
TLE will gnaw/drool on anything or anyone she can get her hands on. For the most part, that means that Mommy and Daddy's hands and shirts are fair game. She really outdid herself last night while I was wearing a tank top. She would stick her fist in her mouth, gnaw on it a little and get it all icky. Then she'd take her fist out of her mouth and start gnawing on my shoulder while patting me down with her drool covered hand! By the time I put her down, my entire shoulder was covered in baby drool!!
I couldn't help but smile, though. As she patted me down with her drooly hand, she babbled away happily. Ah well, whatever makes the TLE happy!
The blog formerly known as muimi07.vox.com is now TheLittleEmpress.vox.com
I've had many blogs over the years and the collector in me just had to sign myself up for VOX while it was in beta. While I love VOX as a blogging platform, I just hadn't found much use for it as I blog in so many other different places. But despite having a personal journal on LiveJournal and a family journal stashed away in another location, I discovered that I wanted to write a public Mommy blog about my experiences as a new mother.
Why The Little Empress.vox.com?
Most people think little baby girls are princesses to be pampered. Our little girl begs to differ.
What part of your childhood do you miss the most?

I was thinking about this last night as I watched the first part of Iron Chef (it was a Bobby Flay episode, so the secret ingredient was Something Easy To Grill.) I generally wander off unless the ingredient is something awesome. I'm still waiting for the secret ingredient to be something like cinnamon, or dandelions.
Anyway, it always starts with "a delectable tradition etc. etc." And it got me to thinking about the word "delectable," because from how it looks and the way you'd expect English to work, doesn't that mean that this is food you could potentially "delect?"
But "delect" isn't in the dictionary. The closest we get is "delict," which is sort of a minor offense or misdemeanor. Anyway, not the point.
"Delectable" would logically mean "able to be delected" in the same way that "paintable" should mean "able to be painted." Only it doesn't, because it's a treadmill word. A pointer back to an action that isn't an action.
Huh.

Like most most independent comics, if the pre-orders aren't there, this book will be horribly under-ordered.
Rather than another memorial/charity for a comic creator who's passed on, why not try and help a creator (and his family) while he's still here?
I have created a little bumper for everyone if you could please add it to one of your shows to try and drum up some support for Josh.
You can find it here: http://www.lordshaper.com/recording/medorsappeal.mp3
Lets try and make a difference for someone who is still here with us!
