For a few...
...years I have been contemplating living some place new. Away from Chicago, away from Illinois. Of course the first thought is to go to California, LA that is, because of my career choice, I'm finishing up film school. Vancouver is a place that I chose a while back because of the many production companies and the way they support their filmmakers. But lately I have been thinking of moving some place that I feel would stimulate my creativity, still thinking of some place not in the States. The first place that came to my mind was France.
What has made this even more relevant, is that two good friends of mine have also entertained the thought of going there as well, Sawyer and Matt. Now many of you may have a problem with France because of the relationship between Bush's war and Frances response of not going along with his plans. I was against the war in the beginning so this feud is futile to me. But I do wonder why is it that I thought of France as a place that can stimulate my creativity? I'm sure if I thought about it long enough I could answer my own question. But I decided to ask you, those who read my Vox blog and any new readers. Why is it that many of us feel that France is a place that an artist feel they can be free to create and that France is a place that can stimulate that creativity? Is this a thought that is rooted from the beat generation of the past, is it a misconception that many have had about France because of their willingness to speak against "authority", or maybe it's something else altogether?
