...lately that when I work overtime I have picked up the habit of going to the
lab later in the evening. Now I have the option to do this so I am not doing something I shouldn't. But I do know that I hate going to my lab, a matter of fact, the plant itself late at night because it's a spooky place when no one is there. I am coming to the conclusion that I may have some sadistic pleasure in torturing myself because I do the same thing with other events in my life. A friend and I were talking about people who do S&M, and without getting to personal, I told her I thought that everyone should try it at least once. But then that's another story for another time.
If you could get everyone in the world to change their behavior in one way, what would you have them do differently?

I would have them love each other which in turn would have them automatically accept, support, and not harm/hurt one other. They wouldn't have to be the same but respect each others desires and wishes as long as it didn't harm or hurt anyone.
...interesting movie called "Itty Bitty Titty Committee". Overall I thought it was a pretty good movie. Though I will say I didn't quite buy the chemistry between the main two characters, the ending I don't think so, and I found it hard to believe the outcome of the love story ( I believe there would have been more name calling and at least one fight). But I would recommend seeing it because it's a fun movie to see.

What's been your worst experience at a restaurant?
I purchased a two piece chicken meal from Popeyes and not only did the people behind the counter look like the chicken may have dragged them in but I would bet money that if the chicken was alive I would have understand what the hell it was saying before I knew what the hell the girl behind the counter was asking me.
...been a while since I have posted here. I've been so busy with TheFemGeek.com and school, I guess I have just been neglecting my Vox blogging or should I say ranting. Actually I have been going through somewhat of a life changing decision that is still in transformation. It's something that has always been apart of my life but has been neglected like so many of the other things I haven't peaked in on. Only difference is this isn't as simple as posting a rant or rave, or choosing a favorite song. Like I said it's in the early stages, transformation, whatever you may want to call it. However, I want to work at making it something that is significant and poignant as waking up every morning. I'm not sure how much of it I will report back to on this blog but I have decided to approach people who I think will help my transition.
Next semester, Spring semester, should be my last semester and I am looking forward to graduating. I have met some really cool people (Sawyer, Sandy, Marc, etc) going to school who I hope will be friends for a lifetime. Maybe we'll bring film/television back to Chicago and give it a face of our own. You never know.
How many TVs do you have in your house?
I have two large televisions both Toshibas and only one HD. I have a small handheld television and both of my laptops have the capabilty to tune in as well.
...didn't come from a wealthy family. I believe that maybe an earlier generation in my family may have been well off and I believe my parents youth was probably better than most. But when it came to my time, unfortunately I didn't reap the rewards of having the finer things in life. Though I was not homeless and had clothes, I had to live from family to family and wear hand me downs. Without getting deeper into my life, I will say I have always believed that because of the fact that my parents had a life somewhat spoiled, it was easier for them to fall into the traps that later affected my way of life. I will also say that my father was a soldier in Vietnam and when he returned I think the affects of that was the straw that broke the camel's back. But because of having an educated family, my education and etiquette was never compromised. This may be a product of coming from a multicultural or, for those of you who prefer to believe color is a race, mulitracial family. I had certain advantages and upbringing that others weren't privy to, which I believe explains some of the unbalanced opportunities that affect so many in America.
Anyway, the reason I am telling a little about myself is I read an article from The Consumerist that I couldn't believe. Now, some may ask, "I don't know why"? Well after reading it, that's how I felt. Why is it that as adults we become dumber and meaner as we get older? I know it's not everyone, but I think we should ask ourselves the question, why is it that at times in our lives when we are suppose to learn and understand as time goes on, there are adults whose IQ, morality, ethics all that shape us into who we are, drops off the face of the earth? And I am not talking about religion, the hell with religion. I myself do not believe in organized religion and for the record I was raised Catholic. I am talking about common sense, decency, respect, tact, human traits that not only make those around you comfortable and stress free but also one's self. This article is based on a simple object, but this object was used to make such a commentary on the world and how our children aren't even safe from the ignorance of adults. They say children can be so cruel, at a age that this child in this article would be, I don't know if it's fair to say that the child is cruel. I think we may want to change that old cliche and say that children's parents can teach them to be so cruel.
I decided not to talk about the article because I thought The Consumerist did a great job themselves. So please do me a favor and read it. Thanks.
...what I have just seen. In Queens, NY a thug robs a 101 year old woman as she was coming out of her building. He robs her for $33 f%&king dollars. He slaps/punches her a few times and throws her to the ground. It is also suspected that he robbed and assaulted an 83 year old woman afterwords in the same manner for $32. The first woman is said to have suffered a broken cheekbone. I know that this type of crime is nothing new but it still riles me to know that there are individuals out there who have no compassion for anyone when it comes to getting the all mighty dollar. I could care less if this person had a starving family at home or was going to be evicted, or even if they needed an expensive operation, what took place here, there's no excuse(s). There are those who have hard times and may even have people trying to hold them back from getting ahead but that does not give you the right to take from someone. IT'S NOT YOURS!!! Then he decides he is going to harm them as he takes from them, elderly people. He has only exhibited his cowardliness, he has no respect for any human being. I wouldn't even say that his fear of attacking someone who could fight him back is a form of respect, because it's not, it just shows he's a pure PUNK. If I am correct there is a form of ethics ( I guess you can call it this) in the jail and prison system where there are certain things that even criminals do not tolerate. I believe beating on elderly women may be one of them. Maybe that's when someone like this thug will really be judged by his peers. I understand that the police have received eleven hundred calls with solid leads. This is something I am happy to hear. I just hope that they find the right person and don't rush to just arrest someone because the people are angry. This individual needs to be taken off the street as soon as possible.

...I was fortunate enough to go to the Chicago Pandora Get-together at the Lakeshore Theater. I really didn't know what to expect because sometimes people in Chicago have their own agenda and coming out on a Friday night doesn't equate to being at a get-together talking about anything dealing with the computer or Internet. Anyway, it turned out to be a good get-together. It wasn't SRO as it was in New York but it was large enough to make the event informative.
I enjoyed meeting Tim Westergren because of his laid back yet enthusiastic appeal. Though he admits to not being the tech guy, you did get the since he was a guy of innovative ideas. I was really upset when my camera malfunctioned. I do blame myself because I didn't want to feel like a nerd caring my larger camera, a lesson I had to learn, and now I don't have the photos I wanted to put on this blog. Though I did take one photo that I will allow on my blog.
Well, I learned a lot about Pandora, how it began and where it wants to go. I also learned how the section works. It isn't just based on if the bands are similar but Pandora branches from other aspects of the song. If there's a elaborate brass section, you may hear bands that also have the same. This path may take you to a song that is of another genre but maybe it was that brass section that appealed to you and now introducing you to another band. Now if you don't like it you can always click the thumbs down.
The future of Pandora can hold so many possibilities with the genome setup that it uses. Be sure to click on the links I have in this pot so you can get more details of Pandora, because I'm definitely not doing it justice. Also if you find that there is a get-together in your town, go, you'll be glad you did.
